The “O Antiphons” are a series of seven Advent prayers based on Isaiah's prophecies about Jesus, each one begins with the beseeching “O” and then addresses Christ using a particular title. They are:
17 December: O Sapientia (O Wisdom)
18 December: O Adonai
19 December: O Radix Jesse (O Root of Jesse)
20 December: O Clavis David (O Key of David)
21 December: O Oriens (O Dawn of the East)
22 December: O Rex Gentium (O King of the Nations)
23 December: O Emmanuel
I have illustrated each of these title and create a booklet and wooden hanging baubles to adorn a tree for each day you celebrate it. It is a wonderful way for children and adults alike to enter into the prayer of the Church as we prepare for who is coming!
